| 内容記述 | The purpose of this research is to bring the documentary film The Peace Bells，shot during the 6th National Athletic Meet held in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1951 to the public and to analyze its content. An analysis related to the remarks in The Peace Bells (narration，subtitles, etc.)and an analysis of the pictures in the film (shooting，editing)，were the methods used in this research.The documentary film was shot under the supervision of The National Athletic Meet Secretariat in Hiroshima Prefecture，which will also be taken into account in the course of work. After analyzing the remarks and the pictures in the film，the following can be stated about the content of The Peace Bells: 1. The scenes showing the panoramic Hiroshima City and its flourishing shopping district，those of the visit of the Emperor family to Hiroshima as well as those showing Hiroshima as a tourist spot，laid emphasis on the‘Restoration of Hiroshima'. 2. Due to the frequent usage of the word‘peace' by the narrator，the pictures of the A-bomb Dome, the scenes of children's smiling faces watching the events and applauding and above all to the title of the film itself, The Peace Bells，Hiroshima could appeal as‘Hiroshima ?The City of Peace'. 3.The film captured the best moments of The Sport Festival by placing the focus on the finals of the track-and-field events and by showing the flag of the Meet many times.Playing the documentary film in every place in Hiroshima prefecture greatly contributed to reviving the sports spirit in the prefecture and raising the residents' prestige in the prefecture. | |||||||||
