| 内容記述 | Carl Ransom Rogers proposed three conditions required of counselors: (1) genuineness or self-congruence, (2) unconditional positive regard, and (3) empathic understanding. Only Jesus Christ completely met all these conditions. This study examined Christian aspects of empathic understanding. The keyword for exploring empathic understanding given by Jesus is "the least of these." There were three phases in the process through which Jesus achieved complete empathic understanding: (1) to stand below "the least of these." (2) Mutual understanding between Jesus and "the least of these," i,e. compassion. (3) Walking with "the least of these," i,e. accompanying. Rogers came to recognize in his adolescence that Jesus was the son of a human being, not the son of God. If Jesus were the son of God, he would be a faraway existence, only to be looked up to. On the other hand, if Jesus were the highly ethical son of a human being, Rogers might be able to reach him. Rogers decided to take the latter perspective, and kept developing as a counselor, following Jesus's way of life, which corresponded to the three phases described above. | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | C.R.ロジャーズはカウンセラーの三条件を提唱している。それは①「純粋性」または「自己一致」、②「無条件の肯定的尊重」、③「共感的理解」である。カウンセラーの三条件を完全に満たしているのはイエス=キリスト唯一人である。このうち本稿では③の「共感的理解」のキリスト教的側面を検討する。イエスの「共感的理解」という面を探究する場合のキーワードは「最も小さき者」である。イエスが完全なる「共感的理解」を逹成させていくプロセスには次の３段階がある。第１段階：「最も小さき者」の下に立つ。第２段階：「最も小さき者」との相互理解一了解一。第３段階：「最も小さき者」と共に歩む一同行一。青年期のロジャーズは、イエスは「神の子」ではなく「人の子」であるとの認識に達する。イエスが「神の子」であれば、それは仰ぎ見るだけの遠い存在である。その一方で、イエスが高度に倫理的な「人の子」であれば、ロジャーズも、そこに到達できる可能性が芽生える。ロジャーズは後者の立場を採った。そしてロジャーズは、イエスと同じ道をカウンセリングの世界で歩み続けたのである。その道とは、上述したイエスの３段階に対応しているのである。 | |||||||||
