They had spread out of the city walls of Hanyang former Keijo, during the period of the Japanese rule. Before the middle of 1930s, people had chosen residential areas as good environments and surroundings in the suburbs. After that, Keijo-Fu had planned residential development by land rejustment. While it had taken long time, private companies had constructed many residential developments avoiding the sites of land rejustment.
