| 内容記述 | 「ソーシャルワーク専門職は、人間の福利の増進を目指して、社会の変革を進め、人間関係における問題解決を図り、人々のエンパワメントと解放を促していく。ソーシャルワークは、人間の行動と社会システムに関する理論を利用して、人びとがその環境と相互に影響し合う接点に介入する。人権と社会正義の原理は、ソーシャルワークの拠り所とする基盤である。」( 国際ソーシャルワーカー協会(IFSW)、2000) 日本におけるてんかん運動の黎明期は1970 年代のてんかん患者会の結成の時期と考えられる。当時からてんかんケアにおけるソーシャルワーカーの役割が期待されていた。また、近年の日本てんかん協会のアンケート調査結果でもソーシャルワーカーの必要性が報告されている。しかしながら、てんかんをもつ人を取り巻く今日の状況は、トリートメントラグ( 発症から治療を開始する時期のずれ)やセカンドオピニオンなどの医療に関する問題と社会参加、自立支援、就労支援といった社会的課題が複合している。ソーシャルワーカーはこれらの課題への対応が問われていくと考えられる。本研究は、黎明期及び近年のてんかん研究の結果をもとに、上記のソーシャルワークの定義と照らし合わせながら、てんかん事例における医療ソーシャルワークの今日的課題について整理した。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | "The social work profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being. Utilizing theories of human behaviors and social systems, social work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments. Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work" (International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), 2000). In Japan, the dawn of the epilepsy movement was the formation of an epilepsy patient group in the 1970s. Since then, participation by social workers in epilepsy care has come to be expected. The results of a recent survey conducted by the Japanese Epilepsy Association also reported the necessity of social workers. However, the situation regarding today’s epilepsy patients are complicated by such medical and social problems as treatment lag (the speed with which the diagnosis is made and treatment is started after the onset of spasms), second opinions, social participation, self-reliance support, and employment support. Social workers need to deal with these problems. In the present study, the results of early and modern epilepsy studies were analyzed in relation to the above-mentioned definition of social work, in order to identify and organize current problems with medical social work for epilepsy patients. | |||||||||
