<datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">"This paper is intended to examine the use of "authentic" texts in the classroom, focusing on film videos as an example of such texts. After briefly discussing the definition of "authenticity"，this paper examines why authentic texts are advantageous and what specific problems they might pose to both teachers and students. Then，feedback from the students，with regard to their material preference，will be presented，which indicated their strong preference for authentic materials and the difficulty most of them felt about the speech speed. As a solution to this challenge，this paper suggests the use of closed captioned film videos, reviewing the findings of the past research studies on thier use in the classroom.</datacite:description>
